the mind of Mencia, indeed...

As someone who has despised the poor-man's-Dave-Chappelle shtick of "Carlos Mencia" for as long as his crappy show's been on Comedy Central, I was thrilled to hear about Joe Rogan busting "Mencia's" balls in public. Which, if this link works, will tell you all you need to know about that douchebag hack...

Now if he would just shut the fuck up already. I cannot believe there are people in the world who find him funny. Then again, there is Larry the Cable Guy, so anything's possible...

PS - How do you know you suck? If Gene Simmons wants to do a guest appearance on your show.

please stand by...

We are experiencing technical difficulties.

(Actually, they're a bit more existential than technical, but whatever.)

We will be returning to regularly scheduled programming when whatever bugs we're dealing with here have been worked out. In the meantime, you should go out and get some exercise or something...

RIP, miss Izzy

It didn't end the way any of us hoped. We are crushed.

You deserved better but that kind of illness is sometimes beyond anyone's control.

At least your last month or so on this planet was spent with a family that doted on you, loved and cared for you as much as anyone could have.

Thank you for gracing us with a small portion of your life. You were a special creature and we will never forget you.

Bush Commutes Libby Prison Sentence

Monday 02 July 2007

Bush spares Libby from prison term.

Washington - President Bush commuted the sentence of former aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby Monday, sparing him from a 2 1/2-year prison term in the CIA leak case.

Bush left intact a $250,000 fine and two years probation for Libby, according to a senior White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision had not been announced.

Bush's move came hours after a federal appeals panel ruled Libby could not delay his prison term in the CIA leak case. That decision put the pressure on the president, who had been sidestepping calls by Libby's allies to pardon the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney.

Libby was convicted in March of lying to authorities and obstructing the investigation into the 2003 leak of CIA operative's identity. He was the highest-ranking White House official ordered to prison since the Iran-Contra affair.

So this adminstration, with its unyielding concern for democracy, hunting down "evildoers," promoting historically American ideals, prosecuting those deemed threats to freedom and the American way of life (when they're not secreting them abroad for torture outside the realm of our own and international laws) has made it clear: treason, when committed by a political, let me rephrase that - committed by commission of the president's officially a pardonable offense.

Nice. May Dubya's god bless America.
